Diversity of the District Courts

The district judge seats around the United States are still largely filled by white men. There isn't a district court in the country where women would have 60 percent or more of the judge seats. The district court of Eastern New York has most women, 58 percent. The most homogeneous districts are North Dakota and Nebraska, where all the judge seats are filled by white men.

On the contrary, the most diverse district courts are Northern California, New Mexico and Hawaii, where the share of both people of color and women is around half.
